The Yellow Slip (MEU1) is the Registration Certificate issued to EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens who live in Cyprus for more than 3 months. It is required by law, grants full residency rights, and does not expire.
Governed by EU Directive 2004/38/EC as transposed into Cyprus law through Law 7(I)/2007. Every EU citizen staying more than 90 days must register.
Full right to live, work, and access public services in Cyprus including GESY (national health). The Yellow Slip for EU citizens does not expire.
Since late 2024, rental agreements must be certified by a Muhtar and stamped by the Tax Department. UK nationals with old paper MEU1 must convert to biometric cards by August 2026.
The Process
We review your situation — nationality, employment status, family members — and tell you exactly what you need.
We prepare your MEU1 form and guide you on every document — passport, proof of address, proof of funds, employer letters, or health insurance depending on your category.
We book your appointment at the Civil Registry and Migration Department and prepare your complete file, so you know exactly what to bring. For EU citizens, the Yellow Slip is typically issued same-day or within one month.
Once you have your Yellow Slip, we can assist with GESY registration, tax residency, and any next steps for your life in Cyprus.
